My Love, My Bride

Time out from some dramas and lets welcome My Love, My Bride.

One of the loveliest drama I had watched this year. The movie is about a a new married couple Young Min (Jo Jung Suk) and Ming Young (Shin Min Ah), who get married after college.

The story follows these young couple from their Honeymoon stage, to their bickering moments to their misunderstandings but in the end find the true meaning of their marriage.

The movie was also a remake of 1990 with the same title. I didn't had the chance to watch the movie because I wasn't born yet hahahaha....

The chemistry between Young Min and Min Young is super pretty and cute. They looked like a real couple! Jo Jung Suk really looks like he's super in love with Min Young and same goes to Min Young. Their love for one another was really beautiful and you can feel it.

What I have picked up from this movie was Communication is the Key. Love is stronger than challenges.  I really did enjoy the movie that everything seems so beautiful and light.

Thank you so much for reading my blog! It's a must watch! <3

Grand Prince

"Since We are Alive, there is still Hope. No matter what happens do not give up hope"

(As long as we breathe, there is always hope around the corner. Hope is not just for our lives, for our dreams but for the whole world as well. As this pandemic rises, we don't know what's going to happen in the future, to believe or to hang in hope is something that could be painful to experience or a happiest moment that could occur. No matter how hard things may be if we hold on to our hopes, everything will land on its place, and everything will be okay. There is always hope, believe. I hope that this pandemic would really end. )

Grand Prince tells a story about two brothers who fell in love with the same woman and their battle to the throne. Another tale of two brothers fighting (why can't they be a team!) While reading the plot about Grand Prince the story had some historical facts like Lee Hwi is based on Grand Prince Anpyeong and Lee Kang was based on the future king of Joseon King Sejo. So as I was reading how it's loosely based on historical figures I am 100% that this drama wouldn't end happily, given the fact about it's history :((((((

(Again this drama may have spoilers or may have spoilers lingering along the way)

Lee Hwi/Grand Prince Eun Seung played by Yoon Shi Yoon is a gentle, warm, brave, and honorable Grand Prince who is third in line to the throne. He knew that his role as a Grand Prince would be a support to the future King of Joseon and he doesn't have the slightest desire for the trone. All he wants was to live the life he wanted and to fall in love to woman he truly love.

I guess, Yoon Shi Yoon will always have a place in my fangirl heart! hahahaha He always had this charisma that whenever he gives a smile "I don't know" this is just me, it feels like he's too kind that you wanted to just stay next to him and confide in him hahaha... but this drama gave us a Manlier and tougher Yoon Shi Yoon! It was another new thing for me to seeee...

Overall, Yoon Shi Yoon always conveys his message to the viewers, from his love, his pain, to his warmth and decisions.

Jo Wang Suk is Prince Lee Kang. He's the second to the throne and was the opposite of Lee Hwi. Ever since he was younger or as he was growing up, his desire of getting to the throne was his main priority. As I was watching him, I still don't get why he was raised outside the palace walls. He longed so much for love especially to his mother, for a second I thought he wasn't the Queen Dowager's son but he was, I just can't understand why the mother and son relationship was floating. But the Queen loves him but I guess the way she raised him made him the way he is and I kinda felt bad for him, but gosh I hate his antics!

It's the first time I have seen Jo Wang Suk and the way he was as Prince Lee Kang was really intimidating and a bit scary. But just like how Ja Hyeon describes him, despite of him looking tough and madly bad, he has sadness in his eyes that seems beyond compell. But that doesn't mean he needs to be bad. His eyes speaks as well as his actions!
Ja Hyeon played by Jin Se Yeon, is the fun in between two male leads. She was the contrast, she was a bit of a troublemaker, wants to find something new about everything, and she's super charming that made her the woman in between brothers.

I love Jin Se Yeon, she's just so beautiful to watch. I can't even help but to say she's really pretty and I really felt the love she had for Hwi. Whenever she says his name, her eyes sparkles with L O V E.

Yoon Na Gyeon played by Ryu Hyo Yang is just like Lee Kang, her character gave a strong willed of aiming to be on top. If she supports Lee Kang on his way through the throne, she could also fulfills her wish to become Queen. The two of them could be a powerful couple if only they had made their way in the good path but they were both greedy of power. That's what the drama had showed for 20 episodes but in the the Queen did it so she could have a space in Lee Kang's heart. She love him and until the end she does. If only she said it in the beginning of their marriage. Lee kang would know that there is someone who loves him no matter what.

The lovestory between Ja Hyeon and Hwi is like a definition, LOVE CONQUERS ALL. In love you needed to make sacrifices, in love you need to make choices, and in love its also all about faith and trust. Their relationship also tells us destiny could really happen. Ja Hyeon said that if they meet three times in a row it means they are destined to be in love. Definitely Star Crossed Lovers. :) <3 kiligs!

The drama wouldn't be a good time to watch if it wasn't for the supporting characters. They blend the drama that they are like the glue to it's drama. I love Eunuch Park, Roo Si Gae, Jahyun's Oraeboni and Kkeut Dae, they're like the spice in a viand, they complete the menu of love, fun and bickering in the most fun way.

I also loved how Lee Hwi told Cho Hyu Kung (the Gisaeng who had tried to help Lee Kang but ended helping Lee Hwi)"You should find meaning in your life too, even though you are a low ranked individual and a woman with an injured eye, you will become a precious person. No, this is all incorrect. All people are precious". I guess it's the first time Hyu Kyung had heard someone telling her that she is a precious person too, not just someone who makes music or a gisaeng but someone precious.

This drama is also a happy ending. It did change the course of a drama that is loosely base on it's historical figures. If you guys want some historical drama this one may be for you! :)

Nokdu Flower

"Everyone is Precious" - Yi Kyang

Nokdu Flower is a historical drama that is set during the 1894 Donghak Peasant Revolution. This drama is another tale about two brothers siding on different oppositions that ended in a conflict at the end. (This blog may have lingering spoilers along the way)
Yi Kyang (Jo Jung Suk) the older brother was an illegitimate child whose know as "That Man" a brutal and rough man while Yi Hyun (Yoon SHi Yoon) the younger one was respected and love by everyone. He loves his older brother so much that he admires and respects him.

I really wish that this drama was about two brothers fighting for their country as one, not from two opposite sides. The growth of these characters were deliberately opposite. They don't even had much screentime together because of the different paths they have taken.

Baek Yi Kyang improved his character so much. From the arrogant, scary, brutal THAT MAN he was, to a character that gave meaning of never lose hope. We will continue to fight for the future of our people. This is the third time I have watched Jo Jung Suk, I saw him at Legend of the Blue Sea and watched him on EXIT, I felt like this was very new to me. Watching him really made me feel he was Yi Kyang, he's words during the Battle of UGeumchi made an impact "That's why I am going to fight, for the past few months, we have lived in a world where all humans are equal. It has been so amazing that I cannot imagine living in any other world"

Baek Yi Hyun's character was a distressed to the heart. (I felt like I was bias here) Despite of hating his progression, I felt sad for his character. Yes I never liked how cruel from within he was but I felt like because of his status he felt that he was never accepted at all. It all started from his love for Myung Sim and how his brother Lord Hwang destroys him. (I guess love is a powerful thing, you'll never what you can do to be with the one you love. whether you'll go bad or good)

Yoon Shi Yoon had really showed the turmoil that Baek Yi Hyun is suffering. From his PSTDs, his struggles with his own morals, the likes of changing the world, and his own personal choices. I was always wanting seeing him in a serious character but I didn't expect him to be this SERIOUSS!!!! and to add up he's like a villain!

This is also a result of poor parenting from the Father :((((((( He gave unsolicited advices to make his children suffer. It was all power and rising up, he never cared for what he's children might suffer. :(

We also have Han Ye Rin who plays Song Ja In, a merchant and a daughter of the chief merchant. At first she was all about earning money and aiming for huge profits but later on she provided support on the Donghak Warriors. I love how Yi kyang and Ja In had their little sweet romances, it's like love in the time of war. Despite of the few instances they are together, you know from the very beginning Ja In Likes YI Kyang. As her journey being a merchant takes her, she even met Yi Hyun as the sweet, young man who turns into an Oni along the way.

"It was always the weak that changes the world" -Jeon Jung Bu

Jeon Jung Bu is the base of this drama. Actor Moo Seo Choi was Jeon Jun Bu. It felt like he was really leading the revolution. I always remember him as Park Bogum's Dad in Reply 1988 but this time his General Nokdu to me.

It was his revolution that made the Gabo Reform into a reality. He was the general of the peasants. He was the father of his people. He had stand clear with his aims on equality among all status. His ways may not be good for starting a rebellion but his men we're the warriors who fought over the Japanese during the Ugeumchi War. Despite of losing the battle, his name was never forgotten. He was The Nokdu Flower.
(They also re-enact this famour photo of General Nokdu)

Roh Haeng Ha is one of the badass female character in this drama! In a league of extraordinary fighters, there's her. She's strong, she's feisty, and genuine. Despite of her strong aura and physique at the end of the day, she's a woman, she suddenly feels attraction to our main lead Yikyang and also gets attracted to pretty jewelry :)

The story was base on the real historical events during the Donghak Peasants war (1894-1895) and the life of Donghak Leader Jeon Jung Bu or was better known as General Nokdu (of course with fictional happenings added to the drama).

I love historical dramas because it indulge to me to a great understanding of history. I just wish we also have this kind of dramas here in the Philippines. This drama made me cry so much especially the episode of the revolution itself and the moment when Song Ja In saw the death of her family friend Choi Deok Ki. :(((((

The latter part of the series was the Ugeumchi war. It was hard to watch due to thousands of people being slaughtered by the Japanese. It even made me cry harder because of the song Seya Seya ParangSaeya... I even searched for the song itself to know it's meaning. The song was actually the song from the revolution itself.  "In the lyrics, “Nokdu (Mung bean) field” means the Korean peninsula ruled by his humanitarian ideals about equal society, and the “blue bird” stands for Japanese and Chinese military forces that suppressed the revolution and killed thousands of Koreans at that time." - wikipedia

[Korean Lyrics]
새야 새야 파랑새야
녹두밭에 앉지 마라
녹두꽃이 떨어지면
청포장수 울고 간다

[English Translation]
Bird, bird, blue bird
Do not sit on the Nokdu (mung bean) field
If the Nokdu flower drop off
Nokdu jelly seller will cry out

This drama has a lot of familiar faces (if your a kdrama fan you know what I mean. I always see this actors in historical dramas as well).

"The only way to overcome fear is by confronting it" Jeon Jung Bu

This drama is inspiring to watch because on how the Joseon People never back down in fighting for their country. If you like Historical dramas like me, this series is for you!

Thank you for dropping by! I hope your dreams come true! Stay Safe!

School 2017

"I realize with time that each person isn't limited to one dream, and nothing stops you from changing along the way" -Jung Joon Soo

Joon Soo Sem is like me (this older version of me hahahha). I felt like as soon as I grew older I know that I didn't need to limit myself to just one dream. That I need to have branches and branches of dreams, that everyday could be a chance to make those dreams come true. A miracle towards the present I am facing. I felt Sem's words so much that I really felt that GGosh I am old! I understand and felt those words!!!! Even if I'm old that doesn't stop from dream a little dream or have my Big Dreams come to life and if it fails, it doesn't end there!

The story centers to students of Geumdo specifically Tae Woon played by Kim Jung Hyun (Crashlandingonyou, LAughterinWaikiki) our male lead who seems to be mean and distrustful but gave a funny, calm and cool behavior throughout the series. Ra Eun Ho played by Sejong (GUGUDAN)  is our quirky, cheerful female lead who dreams of becoming a webtoon artist. Our Second Male Lead, Dae Hwi played by Jang dong Yoon (Tale of Nokdu) is the class president who's perfect in everything but hides a hidden agenda on the side. As the story line progress, just like Eun Ho, I was so confused who the mystery X is. I knew it was him but ended up as oh it's not him.

School 2017 is like your past School series. The Moms are super SCARY, the Dads in this drama (well this happens in a school base drama) are a bit out of the picture except Eun Ho's and Tae Won's fathers. Just like in any other school based drama it also tackles about friendship through ups and downs.
This scene brings back some Descendants of the Sun Feels

And Rain Scene Dramatic Entrance from every Kdrama we watch :D

I also love the story between their timid school teacher Mr. Shim and Officer Han <3 and the partial love triangle they had with Mr. Joon Soo. I also liked the "Grim Reaper" Mr. Young Koo, who teaches his students in a way they would really learn their lesson.

I have always been a fan of School ever since I have watched School 2013 that gave Kim Woo Bin and Lee Jong Suk the stars they are now. I also enjoyed Kim Soo Hyun's School 2013 (it made me hate Kang Soo Hyang too much that I ended up loving her as an actress). But it took me years to watch School 2017 because I have so may kdrama on my list that I wanted to finish hahahahha.

School 2017 brings me back to my younger years (yep, younger years) when dreaming isn't just some past time, but something that I treasure in my heart. Something that I would like to do in the future because I knew it was something that calls me. School 2017 brings back our memories of our teenage years. School 2017 also tells us the different scenario students are facing; from academics, to friends, to bullying, to first love, to parents and teachers. School series always touches my heart and gives me the once "What if's" I had when I was younger.

"I feel happy when I draw. So I'll have a job that will let me draw for the rest of my life" -Eun Ho

I feel Eun Ho's words in this one. I always wanted to be an artist. I wanted to become a Manga artist when I was younger because of my love for Sailor Moon. It's one of my many dreams. It makes me really happy whenever I start drawing. Even if sometimes I felt that my artwork is not that great nevertheless I am really happy. Especially when others find my artworks pretty. What made me even happier is when she said "I'll find a job that will make me draw forever" this is me fast forward today. I do a lot of artworks and I am now working as a graphic designer in a company where I truly show my designs with love.

Thank you for taking time reading my blog! If there are any school based dramas that you have watched and love, feel free to share! I hope you are safe and healthy! SPICE!!

#OOTD SAILORMOON EDITION

Sailormoon Fashion

Sailormoon is my all time favorite Anime! It introduce me to "Women can do a lot of things! We can be super-heroes in our own way." Sailormoon's impeccable fashion style brings me back to the 90s!!! I would like to say thank you to my Tita's and of course my mom for everything I wore in this Blog.

This Sailor Warrior isn't afraid to wear pastel color even if her trademark was pastel pink. But that doesn't stop her from pulling off another pastel tone. Good thing I got this clothes from my Ate at KASYA sakin!

Mamarou! My first anime crush! hahaahh I love how Sleek Mamarou in this episode. This is the outfit he's been hiding on that green suit jacket he always wear. I was so happy that I had a black turtleneck top and a gray pants (thanks to my aunt for these!) <3

Especially when you're leaving so early in the morning! The sun isn't heating that much! Besides, our office room has HIGHCOOL POWER hahahaa

The sweater game is on as I tried to pull off Rei's orange get up in this episode of Sailormoon. Sweater from Strath Conar is one of the clothes I got from my mom. She used to wear this way back when she was younger and flashback today, I'm the one wearing it!

One of the thrift shop goodies! The top pink sweater I am wearing is one of my favorite thrift shop wear (I guess all the clothes I wear are my favorite!). I bought it for only P50, while the black skirt is for only 99pesos (kids size) on Forever 21 and shoes from Hush Puppies way back when I was still in college (a gift from my aunt).
