I would not dwell too much on each episode but rather on what I have felt or learned through the process of watching the drama. Probably you have read a lot of reviews about Girl from Nowhere and a lot of interpretations was said on the internet.
But as I watch through the series I really felt like "What in the world just happen?" the cliff hangers in each episode was like "Huh?" so that's it and then another story started, another school to be joined in. I felt like whirlwind of emotions as I pass through each episode. She's totally a girl from nowhere! She simply pops into your school and then poof disappears to scare you with the poor decisions you make!
First, Nanno's laugh was unforgettable. As the episode 2 push through you knew she wasn't human. Her laugh was purely emotionless. You knew that this child is up to no good but in the end teaching you about what you have done has a lot of consequences that what comes around goes around.
Second, It feels like there's a touch of Some of the Seven Deadly sins in the drama such as Lust, Envy, Greed, Pride and Wrath. Ugly truth has the deadly sin of Lust, a story about a teacher whose a child predator. Apologies has lust, wrath and envy, 3 popular boys who had a crush on Nanno and 2 girls who became insecure and envious, so they made a plan that would get Nanno out of the scene. Trophy and the Rank has greed. Hi-So has pride, (I felt so bad for the parents that it crushed my heart thinking what do they still need to do in order for their son to be happy), Wonderwall has envy, BFF and thank you teacher has Wrath.
Third But mostly it has the concept of Hatred, Obsession, Envious, Money and Fear. It tackles human nature in all sorts of form. But my favorite episode would be Lost and Found, the most genuine, most mature and the aspects of trusting and friendship and maybe love was at the episode.
Lastly, The girl from nowhere is like a creative narrative about Nanno's life.My take on this drama was I guess the first 11 episode was a creative narration on what Nanno had to go through on her stay in school. I felt like it was actually her story and the story of her old classmates, it seems like it was a breakdown of what had happened to her in the last two episodes bff. It's just me and my understanding.
For example, the way the kids had brutally buried Nanno on the second episode, and the way she brutally bullied in school on ep13. Or Mr. Win's being a child predator is like the present of Meng his classmate whose a photographer and taken advantage of underage women. I felt like it was a piece in a huge puzzle.
Okay this would be really messy, because my thoughts are messy ahhahaha Thap (Fong's boyfriend) was actually Tan (Nanno's boyfriend in the phone) has the same story line as the Social Love. Han may be Tan to Nanno and Yui may be Nanno and Fong may be the Nanno in Hanno. Yui was bullied due to her relationship with Han but Han didn't do anything, same as what Tan did, he just looked at the bloody Nanno and left. It's somehow a similar approach but changed with the way Nanno said Yui "Thank you for letting Han stay with me" (as she became a vegetative state in ep5 and the way Nanno said to Fong and Thap that she did it so that they could be together despite of the guilt Thap is feeling.
But yeah! ahahahha Overall the series was a good drama to watch! hahaha It tackles bullying, it tackles corruption in school, it tackles how every action has it's own consequences.
"In this beautiful world, everyone apologizes as if it's some kind of tradition. If we make mistake, we apologize, if we make the same mistake, we still apologize. This is humanity" Nanno, Girl from nowhere.
Nice and well observed interpretation ate clap clap👏👏
