Watched Brad Pitt's film F1!! (late posting review)
"In the 90s, Sonny Hayes was Formula 1's most promising driver until an accident on the track nearly ended his career.
Thirty years later, the owner of a struggling Formula 1 team convinces Sonny to return to racing and become the best in the world.
Driving alongside the team's hotshot rookie, Sonny soon learns that the road to redemption is not something you can travel alone.
Sitting down for almost 2 hours made me feel like I was driving that race car, i was flipping through the pages of
Joshua and Sonny Hayes personalities like I got your point, I was like mid way to my mid life and then the youngster in me with emotions as high as a mountain was Dude understood those context.
Why celebrate if you're not yet number 1? This is one trait Sonny keeps on saying to Joshua and he didn't quite understood the way he celebrated. All throughout the journey of the film, Sonny Hayes was a man humbled in time.
He chose the path to understand, drive for someone, achieve the goal to be behind the wheels, to fly, to give credit when the credit is due and to tell me as an audience, it was never the age, the car, back injuries but the dream.
Stay focused, continue learning, and to have that drive and pursue something that your heart wanted so badly.
His race, his personality, his charisma, not only humbled Joshua but had made him realize that he was really a good driver, actually a phenomenal driver. He doesn't need all the compliments in the world because just like he said those are just noise. You have to focus on yourself, your goals, your setbacks, your triumphs, your wins because that will put you in the number 1 spot.
The Pressure of being number 1 is so high it tested your limits as person. Just like Joshua whose head in the game was for the glory of celebratory and compliments couldn't accept defeat when its a must. But as the race continues, he lost, he understood team work, he learned to listen, he accepts defeat, his drive weren't just to he number 1 but to race with the goal on jis sleeves.
In every cases in life What Sonny Hayes sayes about hope, that Hope is not a strategy, sometimes the thin line of hope isn't what makes you hold on, but the ways life teaches you to make a move and try to proceed or fulfill with your goals without holding back.
When you really love something the universe will conspire for you to achieve it.
If its meant for you, it is for you. At the end of the film, spoiler alert i was hoping for Joshua to win, but in the end, it was Sonny's journey of winning the dream he had lost years ago. And he didnt just win, he drove with glory, and the goals to make his dad proud.
Our goals are inspired in making our parents proud. In the movie, the picture of his dad was always been in the scene where he throws his cards. It was not just about the race but its also winning for his dad. And when he won the race, it was the image of him and his father echoed throughout the screen.
Do what makes you happy. He may have won but his love for driving made him where he want to be. The drive towards the life he really wanted. And that is to drive cars.
